How to find the right class for your swimmer

At Seal Swimming, we understand that choosing the right class or level is an important part of setting your swimmer up for success. While we do not typically offer trial classes, we provide tools and support to ensure every swimmer starts in the right place.

Use our Class Finder (recommended)

Not sure where to start? Our online Class Finder is the quickest way to find the best class for your swimmer. Just answer a few short questions about your child's age, swim experience, and comfort level in the water. It only takes a couple of minutes and will guide you to the most suitable program or stage within our Swim Stars or other learn-to-swim levels.

If you are not confident about your swimmer's placement — or the results from the Class Finder are not clear — our team is here to assist. You can:

• Call or email us to discuss your child's previous swim experience
• Share videos or details about their current abilities
• Receive tailored recommendations from our experienced staff

In-person swim assessments (when needed)

In some cases, we may recommend booking an in-person swim assessment. These short, informal evaluations take place at one of our pool locations and help our swim teachers observe your swimmer's comfort, ability, and technique directly. In-person assessments are:

• Optional and based on need
• Available by appointment only
• Conducted by a certified Seal Swim Teacher or Team Captain

Why we do not offer trial classes

To ensure consistency, safety, and progress in our programs, we do not offer one-off trial classes. Instead, we focus on:

• Thoughtful placement using our Class Finder
• Flexible program entry — join mid-session if space is available
• Supportive, low-ratio classes where new swimmers are welcomed with care
