How to Recognize Seal Swimming Staff
A guide to identifying Seal Swimming staff by their uniforms and roles — including Swim Teachers, Shift Leads, and Reception Staff — so you always know who to turn to at the pool.
At Seal Swimming, We're Easy to Spot
At Seal Swimming, we pride ourselves on having a dedicated and professional team to ensure your swimming experience is safe, enjoyable, and productive. Here's a guide to help you recognize our staff members during your visits.
Uniform and Appearance
Our staff members are easily identifiable by their distinct uniforms:
- Swim Teachers — Wear blue Seal Swimming long-sleeve shirts with the company logo when teaching in-water, and white long-sleeve shirts with the company logo when teaching from the deck. They wear swim trunks or athletic pants depending on their position.
- Team Leaders / Shift Leads — Usually in white or light blue shirts with the Seal Swimming logo, paired with swim shorts or athletic pants.
- Reception Staff — Typically dressed in casual attire with a Seal Swimming name tag and logo accessories.
Poolside Presence
During swim lessons, our Teachers and Assistants will be:
- On Deck — Actively engaged with students, demonstrating techniques and providing guidance.
- In the Water — For younger or beginner-intermediate classes, Teachers will be in the water to provide hands-on assistance and ensure safety.

Reception Staff Duties
The reception staff are your first point of contact when you arrive at the pool. They will:
- Greet you with a friendly smile and assist with check-in
- Answer questions and provide information about schedules, lessons, and general inquiries
- Handle payments for swimwear and equipment, and assist with any financial transactions or scheduling adjustments
Interaction with Parents and Swimmers
Seal Swimming staff members are trained to maintain a professional yet approachable demeanour. They will:
- Communicate clearly and provide updates on swimmers' progress and address any concerns you may have
- Offer support and be available to help with any logistical needs — from finding the right changing rooms to understanding lesson plans
You can also track your swimmer's progress anytime through the Swim Portal, where SplashCheck ratings and swim teacher notes are updated regularly.
Friendly and Approachable
All Seal Swimming staff members are selected for their friendly and approachable nature. They are trained to make swimmers of all ages feel comfortable and confident — from our youngest Baby Seal participants to our Teen and Adult Swim Training swimmers.
Ongoing Training
Our staff regularly undergo training to stay updated with the latest swimming techniques, safety protocols, and customer service practices. Learn more about our Teaching Methodologies or explore our Swim Teacher Courses if you're interested in joining the team.
