How often should we attend swimming lessons?
We recommend a minimum of one lesson per week. Swimmers attending twice per week generally progress faster.
For the best results, we recommend attending at least one swimming lesson per week. Consistent weekly attendance builds momentum — helping swimmers develop confidence, retain skills, and build muscle memory over time.
Why Weekly Lessons Matter
A steady weekly routine helps your swimmer stay engaged and focused. When practice is consistent, progress is more visible, skills are reinforced, and confidence grows with each splash.
Want to Progress Faster?
Add a Second Weekly Lesson — Swimmers who attend two sessions per week often see faster skill development. The extra time in the water helps reinforce technique and smooth out challenges between lessons. Use our Class Finder to find a second time slot that works for your schedule.
Join Family or Open Swim Times — Unstructured swim time outside of lessons — like Open Swim or Lane Swims — gives swimmers a chance to explore, play, and practise at their own pace. Check your nearest location for Open Swim and Lane Swim availability.
Bonus Tip
The more comfortable and familiar your swimmer is with the water, the more confident and capable they'll become — so feel free to mix lessons with fun swims, summer practice, or holiday intensives when available.
