What the lesson feels like

  1. A child and Seal Swimming swim teacher share a joyful moment during a lesson.

    Pups 1 — In with you.

    Entries, floats and bubbles with you in the water.

  2. A swim teacher in the water leads a small group of children through a lesson.

    Pups 2 — Two metres.

    Front and back floats stretch to two metres with support; flutter kick starts at the wall.

  3. A lifeguard kneels at the shallow end beside a swimmer, reaching assist and buoy within reach.

    Pups 3 — First class without you.

    Three children, one swim teacher, and the first glide and recover on their own. Next stop: Swim Stars 2.

What age group is the Seal Pups program designed for?

Toddlers aged 2 to 4 years. Builds on Baby Seal’s water confidence with more structured skills.

Parent-and-tot format for younger Pups, with parents gradually stepping back as children gain independence.

What skills will my child learn in the Seal Pups program?
  • Independent water entry and exit.
  • Front and back floating.
  • Basic kicking.
  • Bubble blowing and breath control.
  • Reaching and grabbing the pool wall.
  • Comfortable submersion and water play.
  • Early independence in the water.
How do I know if my child is ready for Seal Pups?

If your child is between 2 and 4 years old and has some basic comfort around water, they’re likely ready. If they’ve completed Baby Seal, they’ll transition naturally.

How many students are in each Seal Pups class?

Typically 3 to 4 swimmers per swim teacher.
